Booking Terms
Different terms apply to venue bookings and private events. Your written confirmation or agreement identifies the engagement and references these terms.
Venue bookings
Restaurants, bars, wineries, hotels, and clubs: no deposit. Courtney invoices after the performance. Payment is due net 15.
Venue cancellation
- 14 or more days before the performance: no fee.
- 7 to 13 days before: 50% of the agreed fee.
- Fewer than 7 days before: 100% of the agreed fee, waived if the date is rebooked within 60 days.
For a recurring series, either party may end the series with 30 days’ written notice. Performances already confirmed inside that window follow the venue cancellation schedule above.
If Courtney cancels, no fee is owed. She notifies the venue as early as possible and offers another date or a vetted substitute. The venue decides whether to accept either.
Every confirmed booking receives a short written confirmation of date, times, fee, load-in, sound and volume notes referencing these terms.
Private events
Weddings, private parties, corporate events, and house concerts: the date is confirmed only after a written agreement, the buyer’s signature, and payment of a 50% retainer. The retainer reserves the date exclusively. The balance is due 14 days before the event. For bookings made less than 14 days out, the full fee is due at booking.
Reschedule
One reschedule to a date within 12 months, if requested at least 30 days before the event and subject to availability. The retainer transfers. A price difference for the new date’s format or length applies.
Buyer cancellation
- 90 or more days before the event: 50% of the retainer is refunded.
- 14 to 89 days before: the retainer is kept, and no balance is owed.
- Fewer than 14 days before: 100% of the fee is owed or kept.
Artist cancellation
If Courtney cancels because of illness or emergency, the buyer chooses a full refund of everything paid, a reschedule, or a vetted substitute. Courtney’s liability is limited to amounts paid.
Events outside anyone’s control
For severe weather, government order, venue closure, natural disaster, or a similar force majeure event, the event is rescheduled within 12 months and all payments transfer. If no mutually agreeable date exists, amounts paid are refunded minus documented non-recoverable costs (for example travel already booked).
Outdoor safety
Courtney may pause or end an outdoor set for lightning, rain on equipment, or unsafe heat or power. The fee is still owed for a performance stopped for safety.
Payments
Payments go by card through Stripe, or by another method named in the agreement. A disputed charge does not cancel the agreement.
General
Governed by Texas law. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas.
The agreement and these terms are the whole deal. Changes must be in writing, and email counts.
Song-request and tip terms on the live page stay as published. A paid request that isn’t performed is refunded. Tips are kept unless Courtney refunds them.
